Art Resolution Therapy (A.R.T.)
Is ART Right for You?
If past experiences continue to affect your emotions, relationships, self-confidence, or daily functioning, ART may be a helpful option.ur therapists can help determine whether Accelerated Resolution Therapy is a good fit for your needs and goals.
"Healing doesn't require forgetting the past. Sometimes it means changing the way the past affects you today."
-
At Crossroads Counseling & Life Coaching, we recognize that many emotional, behavioral, and relationship struggles are connected to difficult life experiences, overwhelming stress, or unresolved trauma.
As a trauma-informed practice, we strive to understand the life experiences that may have contributed to a person's challenges and how those experiences continue to impact thoughts, emotions, relationships, and daily life.
Currently, all of our licensed clinicians have completed specialized training in Accelerated Resolution Therapy® (ART).
-
Accelerated Resolution Therapy® (ART) is an evidence-based therapy that helps people process and resolve distressing memories, trauma, anxiety, grief, and other emotional challenges.
ART combines guided eye movements with visualization techniques that help the brain process difficult experiences in a new way. Unlike some therapies, ART does not require clients to repeatedly tell their story or relive painful events in detail.
Rather than erasing memories, ART helps reduce the emotional and physical distress connected to them.
-
Many clients report that after ART, they can remember what happened without feeling as overwhelmed by it.
The memory remains, but it no longer carries the same emotional intensity, allowing people to move forward with greater freedom and confidence.
-
ART may be helpful for:
● Trauma and PTSD
● Childhood trauma
● Anxiety and panic
● Grief and loss
● Depression
● Phobias and fears
● Stress-related symptoms
● Relationship wounds
● Distressing memories and intrusive thoughts
● Performance anxiety
-
Many clients appreciate ART because it:
● Often produces results more quickly than traditional talk therapy alone
● Does not require extensive discussion of traumatic experiences
● Addresses both emotional and physical responses to trauma
● Helps the brain and nervous system process difficult experiences more effectively
● Can provide meaningful symptom relief in a relatively short period of time
-
ART is one of several trauma-informed approaches offered at Crossroads.
Depending on a client's needs and goals, our clinicians may integrate:
● Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)
● Internal Family Systems (IFS)
● Somatic Experiencing®
● Movement and body-based therapies
● Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
● Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
● Parent and Family Life Coaching
● Family and relationship counseling
We believe healing happens when we address the whole person—mind, body, emotions, relationships, and life experiences.
